The 2025 PDR Process: Whilst everyone should have the opportunity to have a PDR meeting this year, colleagues are encouraged to take a light touch approach. See guidance on the 2025 PDR process.

A comprehensive review of PDR is currently underway and we are working hard to design, pilot and launch the new PDR approach for the 2026 round.

Review of the last 12 months

Discuss performance and achievements over the last 12 months. Use the first page of the form as well as the objectives section to help structure the flow of the conversation.

This should be a constructive, developmental two-way discussion.

  • Explore the areas where the reviewee has performed well
  • Talk through how and why these successes came about
  • Discuss how work has been approached and the impact this has had on colleagues/students
  • Discuss the areas where objectives were not met and have an open discussion about the factors that influenced this
  • Consider the different elements of performance listed on the form e.g equality, diversity and inclusion and have a dialogue about contributions in each of the relevant areas
