All applications in this process are supported by a Departmental Assessment, which collates feedback from both the Departmental Promotions Group (DPG) and the Head of Department/School (HoD).

The HoD is responsible for ensuring that their department/school has a DPG in operation, in line with the Terms of Reference. The HoD also has oversight of the completion of the Departmental Assessment for each applicant, with support from the DPG.

All DPGs should complete a copy of the DPG guidelines and publish them where all departmental staff can access, to ensure transparency of the group's operations.
