Agent Portal Webinar on 23 October 2024

This webinar will focus on how to submit successful student linkage applications. Time: 10-11 am UK time. Register here

Application information

Undergraduate applications

All undergraduate applications should be made online via the national Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) (ucas.com).

If a student is a non-native English speaking applicant, they must provide evidence of their English language ability. See our English language requirements and information on accepted tests and exceptions.

Undergraduate tuition fees vary depending on whether the course is laboratory or classroom-based. If a course is taught across two departments, students will pay the higher fee.

Tuition fees are subject to annual increases. Fees are subject to increase in subsequent years in line with the prevailing Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate (up to a maximum of 10%). Check the course for details of tuition fees.

Postgraduate applications

Applications for postgraduate courses should be made through the agent portal. For further instructions on how to do this, please see the agent portal section.

If a student is a non-native English speaking applicant, they must provide evidence of their English language ability. See our English language requirements for postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students and information on accepted tests and exceptions.

Tuition fees vary by course and degree type.

Foundation and pre-sessional courses

Our international pathway and pre-sessional English language courses are available for students who do not meet the academic or English language requirements for direct entry to their chosen degree. Check courses for specific entry requirements.

Scholarships and funding

Every year we have many scholarships available for international students across the globe. We update our scholarships throughout the year.

Some scholarships depend on the students' country or department.

Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)

If an applicant requires a Student visa to study in the UK, they will need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Students (CAS). This can be requested after an offer has been accepted. We can issue a CAS once the offer becomes unconditional and no longer than six months before the course starts.

You can apply for a CAS on behalf of an application through the agent portal. Alternatively, the applicant can log in to the 'Student visa' section of the You@York portal.

Some postgraduate taught courses will require a tuition fee deposit to be paid before a CAS can be issued.

Agent deadlines

Please note, dates for 2025 entry are still to be confirmed and will be updated as soon as they are available.

Agent portal

Our agent portal is designed to help you manage all of your students' applications from one place. You'll have the ability to:

  • view application status
  • respond to offers
  • start new applications
  • upload supporting documents
  • view offer letters and email correspondence
  • request a CAS
  • request to be linked with an application.

How to guide

Access our how to guide for information on getting yourself set up and using the Agent portal.

These guides should be used for reference only. As the portal is developed further, things may change and be updated so please ensure you always follow the instructions on your screen.

The images in the guides are provided as examples of what the portal should look like. We have used test data and some details may be blocked out for data protection reasons.

Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulties logging in to the agent portal, you may wish to try connecting using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). If this is not possible, or if you are still having problems, email international-agents@york.ac.uk.

If you are seeing a message on the log in screen saying that your account has been disabled, email international-agents@york.ac.uk and we can instruct you on how to re-enable the access to your account.

Make sure you check your spam or junk email folder, as the email with your login details may be in there.

Agency staff

If you were contacted by a staff member or manager from your agency regarding creating your account, contact this person in the first instance. They will be able to check the account that they have created for you and ensure that the details are correct.

If these details are correct and you have still not received your login details, email international-agents@york.ac.uk and include your full name and email address relating to the account.

Agency manager

If you are an agency manager and have previously provided your details to the International team but have not yet received your login details, email international-agents@york.ac.uk with the name and email address that you submitted in order for us to create your account.

Reset your password by entering the required details that were used to create your account. You should then receive an automatic email with instructions on how to reset your password.

Undergraduate

If you have submitted an application via UCAS, it will not be automatically linked with your agency and therefore will not appear in your portal account. Use the 'Applicant linkage' section of the portal to request the link to be made. In order to speed up this process, when submitting a UCAS application on behalf of a student please ensure that your agency name is included in the 'Nominated access' section.

Postgraduate

If you have selected your agency from the drop down box on the application form and submitted the application, it should appear in the portal within a few days. If you did not select your agency then you will need to use the 'Applicant linkage' section of the portal to request the link to be made.

If you have started a new postgraduate application but not yet submitted it, you will not be able to access this through the portal. Instead, you will need to use the login information you entered when starting the application and follow the instructions provided in the email you received with your login details.
