Viking 2 celebration event
IT Services are hosting an event to celebrate Viking 2, our high performance compute cluster and its new sustainable home at EcoDataCenter in Sweden.
The move to Sweden in October last year marked the culmination of lots of hard work and we’re looking forward to celebrating this as well as sharing more information on how Viking can be used to support research at the University.
The University was recently awarded the Sustainable Digital Project or Initiative Award at the UCISA awards, with the move to EcoDataCenter forming a key part of the submission
The event will take place on Friday 24 May in the Piazza Building from 1 until 3:30pm with a reception to follow in the ISA building. This event is ideal for academics and researchers who are interested in high performance computing and who want to learn more about how Viking can support research at the University.
The session will also include 5 lightning talks from York academics on how they use Viking.
Attendees are then invited to continue the celebrations at a reception in the ISA building from 3:35pm.
