University of York Pension negotiations 2023/24
The pension scheme valuation results were received from the University of York Pension Fund
trustee actuary. Based on the results of the valuation, the scheme is in a significant surplus.
The Union is currently in discussions with the University, with a view to improving the pension
scheme for members.
The Union will be actively seeking out members' views on this subject, but please feel free to put

The triennial valuation was carried out on the University of York Pension Fund.
15th March 2022
The University of York Branch of Unite will hold its AGM on Wednesday the 23rd of March 2022 at 12:30 by Zoom.
The AGM will be preceded by a Branch Meeting.
At the AGM, the triennial election of Branch Officials will take place -
The current officials are :-
Branch Secretary- Bob Hide. Physics
Branch Chair - Richard Armitage, Physics
Branch Treasurer - Bob Hide
Branch Equalities Officer - Vacant
Branch Health and Safety Rep - Mike Walker, Computer Science
Branch Auditors - Simon Hart, Mark Hough
The current officials are willing to continue in office but any branch member may be nominated for any of these positions by completing the attached form and returning it to me before the meeting. If anyone is nominated to a position where the incumbent has indicated a willingness to continue, a balot will take place at the meeting.
It is essential that we are able to find a nominee for the vacant position of Branch Equalities Officer. Anyone interested in this position, please contact me for details of the role.
Please note, Student or Community members may not vote in branch elections
We also have a Branch Committee, whose members act as local representatives and we are seeking more of these, this is a role where you can find out more about how the Branch works and is a useful starting point if you want to become more involved in the running of the Branch.
