This module will provide you with the opportunity to undertake an extended placement using 3 different models: (1) on site/with the placement provider (2) based on a brief from a partner organisation or (3) with a staff member/projects within the Department. Your placement will be organised with your interests in mind and, depending on your programme, may focus on:
Curatorial, museum learning or collections management tasks
Cultural heritage activities
Conservation / Heritage Planning
Developing digital resources and archives
Fieldwork activities
You will be assigned an academic supervisor, and where applicable a supervisor from the external organisation, to support you in your work.

This module aims:
To gain experience of working on a project in a professional environment.
To critically reflect on the organisational structure and management of professional practices and research project (as appropriate)
To produce a piece of work for your professional portfolio.

By the end of the module the students will be able to:
Demonstrate self-direction, originality and good communication in tackling and solving problems within a professional environment.
Critically evaluate the complexities and constraints professionals must navigate in order to apply relevant principles in practice.
