SciVal

SciVal is a research intelligence platform. It uses bibliometric data from Scopus to provide analyses of the research performance of over 4,600 research institutions and 220 countries worldwide.

Within SciVal you can analyse and benchmark individual researchers, groups of researchers and institutions based on a variety of different metrics.

Key features

  • Research assessment: evaluates research outputs of individuals, departments, and entire institutions with respect to publication volume, citations (including field-weighted), policy mentions, journal-level metrics and other bibliometrics.
  • Benchmarking: enables comparison of publication metrics against comparators and global standards.
  • Collaboration analysis: provides insights into existing and potential research collaborations, highlighting strengths and opportunities for partnerships.
  • Impact analysis: provides insights into how research is impacting policy-making at local, national, international and regional levels. 
  • Custom report generation: facilitates the creation of tailored reports, including a range of visualisations, to support strategic decision-making.

  • This service is managed by the Research Systems Support Hub within IT Services.
