Print, copy and scan

You can print, copy and scan at machines across campus.

Set up the PrintCloud and simply send your documents to print from a University-managed device, PCs in our computer labs or your own device. Then collect them from a printer near you. Printers are available in our computer labs, library buildings and staff offices.

The print, copy and scan service is also known as York Print Plus (YPP).

Key features

  • A4 and A3 printing, scanning and copying.
  • Colour or black and white printing.
  • Options to collate and staple prints.
  • Pay for printing and top up your balance online.

Departments also have their own printers, some of which students can use. You can find out more by contacting School or Departmental Computing Officers.

  • You only pay the colour rate for pages with colour. If you print a document with both black-and-white and colour pages, you'll only be charged the colour rate for the pages with colour. However, even a small amount of colour (eg a blue link) will trigger the colour rate for that page.
  • You can see how much a print job will cost before you release it at a printer via printing online – sign in with your University account and go to Jobs Pending Release.
