Origin

Origin is scientific data analysis and graphing software. It offers an easy-to-use interface for beginners, combined with the ability to perform advanced customisation as you become more familiar with the application.

Eligible departments

Origin is available to use for the following schools and departments:

  • Comprehensive tools for statistical analysis, curve fitting, peak analysis, signal processing and data manipulation.
  • Versatile 2D and 3D graphing options with extensive customisation for creating high-quality visual representations.
  • Supports importing data from various formats and exporting graphs and results for sharing and publication.
  • Integrates with other software such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Microsoft 365.

The following policies apply to all IT services provided by the University.

Availability

  • This is a live service, available 24/7.

Support

  • This service is managed by a third party.
  • They are responsible for monitoring, identifying and fixing faults. We provide advice and support for local issues during our opening hours.
  • Support is available via Origin Lab (originlab.com).

Standards

  • Our service performance and standards have been produced in consultation with our customers, and we monitor the delivery, performance and availability of facilities and services.
