Mac desktop

Our Mac desktop provides a managed Apple macOS operating system and applications. It’s available for individual staff Macs, shared Macs and teaching classrooms.

Key features

  • Supports all current Apple Mac hardware and macOS releases.
  • macOS is user-friendly, with excellent accessibility, security and privacy built-in.
  • Apple Macs are available on the second floor of the Harry Fairhurst Building, the first floor of the Burton Library, and in LMB/008. For more details, see our computer labs and spaces.

You can use this service on University-owned devices.

MacOS

Our Mac desktop service works on all macOS versions which receive Apple support – currently the latest and two previous versions.

  • This is a live service, available 24/7.

Support

  • This service is managed by IT Services and relies on Apple, Jamf and Microsoft services.
  • We are responsible for monitoring, identifying and fixing faults within our control.
  • Support is available during our opening hours.

Standards

  • Our service performance and standards have been produced in consultation with our customers, and we monitor the delivery, performance and availability of facilities and services.

We appreciate feedback as it helps us review and continually improve our service.
