Computer and hardware repairs
If University equipment breaks down, you can request a repair or recycle it if it's no longer usable.
University-owned equipment
Repairing faulty equipment
All University-owned equipment must be repaired by an authorised company.
IT Services look after their installation, fault monitoring and fixes, and disposal at the end of life of most equipment. If your device or hardware develops a fault, please contact us. We can check if the device is still in warranty and arrange for an authorised repair on your behalf.
Report a fault via IT Services
Typically, devices are fixed within five working days but this may take longer if additional parts are required.
Recycling equipment
When managed equipment reaches the end of its life, we'll arrange for its collection and secure disposal. IT Services, Estates and Stone, our authorised supplier, work together to confirm with relevant regulations (eg WEEE).
Personally owned devices
We don't provide repair support for personal devices (ie a device that you've purchased and isn't owned by the University). However, a local repair company may be able to help.
IT Services do not endorse any of these companies or their services.
You must not send any University-owned devices to the following companies. If you're unsure, contact IT Services.
