Business Objects
Business Objects (also referred to as BOXI) is a reporting tool that is widely used across the University to create reports from various databases.
Key features
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- Create personalised dashboards to visualise data with various charts, graphs, and widgets.
- Easily share reports and dashboards with other users or teams.
- Schedule reports to run at specific times or intervals and distribute them via email or save to a specified location.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators to track business performance.
Access instructions
- Log in with your York username and password.
- If you’re not on campus, you need a virtual private network (VPN) connection.
To request access, please submit a request via the Authorised Systems Registration tool and provide the following information:
- What type of reports do you need to view?
- Do you need view access or access to create and change reports?
Available to staff (restrictions apply)
You can use this service on devices connected to the University network or VPN.

- Our service performance and standards have been produced in consultation with our customers, and we monitor the delivery, performance and availability of facilities and services.
