Autodesk Inventor is 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software. It provides 3D mechanical design, documentation and product simulation tools.

Register for an Autodesk account

  • Autodesk’s Education plan gives eligible students and staff  (autodesk.com) free, one-year, single-user access to Autodesk software and services for educational purposes.
  • You can access all software available through the Education Community, and you can renew your access (autodesk.com) annually as long as you remain eligible.

Available to students and staff (restrictions apply)

Available on classroom PCs in the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology.

App and web-based

Compatible with Windows and Mac. This service also works in your web browser.

  • This service is managed by a third party.
  • They are responsible for monitoring, identifying and fixing faults. We provide advice and support for local issues during our opening hours.

Support is available via the Autodesk Support Centre (autodesk.com). 

Standards

  • Our service performance and standards have been produced in consultation with our customers, and we monitor the delivery, performance and availability of facilities and services.
