Celebrating the work of IT at a department-wide showcase
At the end of April, IT colleagues gathered together for the first ever IT Showcase at the Ron Cooke Hub.
The event was an opportunity for teams across the department to showcase, via whatever medium they felt reflected it best, what they do and what they are currently working on with their IT colleagues.
From robots, virtual reality headsets, personalised stickers as well as some incredible and original posters, the event served as a fantastic reminder of all the brilliant work going on across the department.
“We know that IT is a large department with teams working on everything from cyber security to research computing, so having the chance to all get together and learn more about the different work going on was really important. Events like this also allow us to take a step back and realise the essential nature of our varied work in the day-to-day running of the University, as well as how we can help it adapt to change and improve systems for staff and students.” Tyrrell Basson, IT Director
