Appropriate training is essential for both Health & Safety reasons
as well as to minimise potential damage to the machines and rotors. Machines
must only be used by authorised users. All new members of staff and students
are required to attend a training session. They will then be added to
the authorised
users list.Training is provided by Lot Doucet biol-infrastructure-group@york.ac.uk For new staff/students, details are included in the Induction Pack. For
existing users, training will be provided on request if you are not on
the list of approved users.

A decision on whether to retain individual machines is based on the actual
level of use that is recorded in the log books - low use machines will
either be re-located or not replaced. It is therefore important that the
log books are filled in to record specific information about the actual
runs undertaken. Please remember to fill in your group and workorder details and any rotor details if you have used a rotor from a different machine (Ultras only).
