Grade 7
At Grade 7 you are likely to be:
- Managing the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of business critical hardware and software
- Managing all aspects of the diverse technical support services provided by a team and ensure staff provide help, advice, and resolutions across a range of IT related issues
- Providing high-level technical expertise in the development, support and maintenance of IT systems and services
- Providing technical support to staff and students in the design, development and deployment of IT resources
- Taking a key role in contributing to the design, development and deployment of IT systems and services
- Acting as a technical advisor, typically advising on systems design and analysis, programming and the evaluation of new products and technologies
- Providing technical expertise and leadership for the development of strategic IT services and systems typically through leading or being a member of major project teams and working groups
- Acting as technical supervisor or project manager for specific projects, allocating resources and managing external contractors to ensure that projects are completed to cost, quality & timescales; maintain effective systems and processes for planning, tracking and verifying project deliverables and service improvements
- Coordinating the team’s support rota and ensure there is sufficient staff coverage to maintain service continuity
- Setting best practice and development standards for the team; cultivating a culture of continual personal and service development to foster an open, collaborative and innovative working environment
