Grade 4
At Grade 4 you are likely to be:
- Answering first line IT support queries face-to-face, by email and by telephone; maintaining a high standard of customer service; escalating queries where necessary
- Installing, configuring and testing new and upgraded software; resolving post-installation configuration issues for individual users and the system as a whole
- Carrying out hardware installations of new PCs, laptops and associated peripherals within the department on a rolling scheme of renewal
- Acting as an initial point of contact for the department for all software support, installation, and registration for University IT systems
- Performing routine and regular data maintenance tasks; creating and running statistical reports
- Administering mailing lists and group memberships
- Reviewing, monitoring and editing web pages and other communication materials, working within the University’s style guidelines
- Providing support and maintenance for audio visual equipment; setting up audio visual equipment; undertaking digital recording; providing advice and guidance in the use of AV equipment
- Assisting with the training of system users; contributing to the development and maintenance of training materials and standard operating procedures for systems and processes
- Keeping a stock of IT consumables as required and ordering new items where necessary
