Mail Room Superviser
Main responsibilities
- Plan staff rotas, assign tasks and act in a supervisory capacity
- Ensure that mailroom staff have the necessary training to undertake a full range of duties in the mailroom. Provide training where necessary
- Maintain a safe, secure and tidy working environment for the team, ensuring that equipment is in good order
- Ensure good customer practices are adhered to, monitor customer satisfaction levels and provide advice to users of the postal service
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of all post is protected and that all staff are trained in how to recognise and deal with suspect packages. Respond to and investigate all reported incidents
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: Full Driving Licence. Experience of computer software relevant to the mail industry eg Parcelforce, Plannon, Kinetics. Substantial supervisory experience in the service industry, preferably with mailroom experience. Experience managing budgets
- Desirable: Trained in bomb awareness, First Aid and/or HOTA fire awareness. An understanding of the mailroom environment
Skills
- Essential: Excellent communication, interpersonal and liaison skills at all levels. The ability to provide role specific or health & safety training to team members. The ability to motivate and lead a team to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a customer focussed approach.
- Desirable: IT Knowledge to explore improvements to systems of operations.
