Accessing the apprenticeship levy as an employee of the University
Apply for the apprenticeship levy
Apprenticeship training for staff is supported by the government apprenticeship levy and we therefore need to ensure that applicants meet the criteria for funding.
Please use the relevant Occupational Standard to help you demonstrate that you meet the entry criteria. Successful applicants should demonstrate that this programme is a good fit for their learning needs and have their manager's support to undertake the learning required.
Notes for completion of an application:
- Approval must be sought before commencing with any programme of study.
- Continued financial support will be dependent on:
- Satisfactory progress and attendance on the programme (the University reserves the right to request absence reports from programme providers)
- Satisfactory performance in your role.
- If you are unable to continue with your programme of study you must discuss this with your line manager and inform the Staff Apprenticeships Team as soon as possible so funding can be stopped.
- The University will not continue to fund the training of those members of staff who leave the organisation.
Once you submit your application, it will automatically be sent to your manager for approval. Once approved, the Staff Apprenticeships Team will review and get in touch regarding next steps.
