  1. Manager identifies apprenticeship vacancy

  2. Manager emails HR Enquiries, cc'ing Staff Apprenticeships Team with queries
  3. HR and Staff Apprenticeship Team respond to queries regarding apprenticeship vacancy
  4. Manager confirms pay point on the Apprentices' Pay Scale
  5. Manager raises VRF
  6. Normal recruitment practices followed but in addition HR Services sends Staff Apprenticeships a copy of job template
  7. Staff Apprenticeships and Manager select training provider
  8. HR advertise apprenticeship on the University of York job pages, along with all other vacancies
  9. Staff Apprenticeships enables training provider to advertise position via National Apprenticeship Service
  10. Selection takes place
  11. HR issues Statement of Main Terms and Conditions of Employment for Apprentices
  12. Apprentice presents Right to Work documents
  13. Apprentice completes training provider's application form
  14. Training provider interviews preferred candidate
  15. If apprentice is under 25, Payroll notes NI redemption
  16. Staff Apprenticeships Team inputs apprentice details onto DAS (online portal)
  17. Training provider issues Training Contract to Staff Apprenticeships Team
  18. Staff Apprenticeships Team signs Training Contract on behalf of University
  19. Apprentice starts work and commences training programme
  20. Monthly payments to training provider commence
  21. Training provider issues Training Plan
  22. Apprentice and Staff Apprenticeships Team co-sign Training Plan
  23. Training Provider issues Apprentice Agreement to apprentice
  24. Apprentice and Staff Apprenticeships Team co-sign Apprenticeship Agreement
  25. Staff Apprenticeships Team receives and sends Apprenticeship Agreement to HR Services
  26. HR Services upload the Apprenticeship Agreement onto Resource Link
