Help us improve our understanding of student wellbeing by taking part in important research here at York.

A few years ago, there was little research or high-quality evidence available to help understand patterns of student wellbeing. Therefore, a team of researchers from the Hull York Medical School and the Department of Health Sciences at York began undertaking important research and invited all University of York students to take part.

Join the 10,000 students that have already taken part!

Roughly every six months we invite you to complete the SWANS student wellbeing survey. What you tell us improves our understanding of student wellbeing and informs effective strategies to support students.

It’s time, once again, to take part in this important research. All you need to do is complete a short (10 minute) survey about how you have been feeling over the past couple of weeks - check your UoY inbox for your invitation. The more students that participate, the more robust the data will be.

Participation is voluntary and you can withdraw from the study at any time. Responses are anonymous and confidential.

What’s in it for you?

  • The information you provide will help us to gain valuable knowledge and insight about student wellbeing and to inform the best strategies to improve this.
  • Taking part provides some experience in participating in psychological research.
  • At the end of the survey you can enter a prize draw for vouchers worth up to £50! We have 5 x £25 vouchers and 5 x £50 vouchers to give away.
