How to apply
If you’re interested in applying for a fellowship, we encourage you to contact a member of our staff whose research interests most closely match yours, to ask whether they would be willing to mentor you.
When contacting potential mentors, you should include:
- A copy of your academic CV, including a full list of publications
- Details of the funding scheme you would like to apply for
- A brief outline of your proposed research, maximum 2 pages of A4
- A short statement outlining why you would like to base your research at York
Once you have identified a mentor, please liaise with them to put your expression of interest forward to the Chair of the School Research Committee for consideration.
We evaluate each expression of interest on the basis of:
- Academic merit
- Alignment of the proposed research with our research themes
- Eligibility of the candidate for the proposed funding scheme
Successful prospective Fellows will work with the School to develop a full proposal, and submit it to the external funding call in question.
Alternatively, if you would like to discuss Fellowships in general, you can also contact the Chair of the School’s Research Committee for further information.
Please contact the Chair of the School Research Committee via the PET Research Support Office.
