YESI Seeks Co-Leads to Drive Research on Resilient Socio-ecological Systems
The successful candidates will play pivotal roles in catalysing and developing research activities within their theme
In its ongoing pursuit of advancing interdisciplinary environmental sustainability research, the York Environmental Sustainability Institute (YESI) is seeking two Co-Leads to spearhead its newly renamed 'Resilient Socio-ecological Systems' theme. With the current terms ending, YESI aims to continue shaping its strategic trajectory under the directorship of Prof Lindsay Stringer.
The recruitment drive underscores YESI's commitment to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers, industry partners, and policymakers. YESI's innovative approach, spanning Arts and Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences, addresses environmental challenges on local, regional, and global scales.
YESI’s Research Themes: 'Resilient Socio-ecological Systems', 'Environment and Health', and 'Food, Water, and Waste', reflect pressing environmental issues and academic strengths across the University of York. The new Co-Leads will join the esteemed researchers Prof Peter Coventry, Dr Katherine Brookfield, Prof James Chong and Dr Liz Rylott.
Applicants for the Co-Lead roles are expected to be internationally recognized researchers with expertise in socio-ecological systems and/or resilience. The successful candidates will play pivotal roles in catalysing and developing research activities within their theme, in alignment with YESI's strategic objectives.
"The Co-Leads will serve as ambassadors for YESI, both within the University and externally, forging strong partnerships to position the University of York at the forefront of environmental sustainability research and innovation," emphasised Director Lindsay Stringer.
