Circular Economy Event - documents available for download
Posted on 15 July 2011
A joint CLCF & YESI event was held on the Circular Economy on the 6th October 2011 at the Ron Cooke Hub, University of York. The key note address was given by the Chair of the House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee.
The event was focussed on how can
we respond to the twin challenges of increasingly limited global resources and
rising demand for fossil fuel based products. The traditional linear approach
to product and system design – make, use and dump – is no longer sustainable.
Full cycle whole-system thinking provides an alternative option, and for early
movers, embraces sustainability for competitive advantage. This event heard real life solutions from international corporations, academic
researchers, and Government departments responsible for delivering and
implementing policy.
