New Centre for the Evaluation of Complexity Across the Nexus launches
The CECAN launch last week brought experts together to debate how research can inform the policy cycle.
On the 13th September, experts from the social sciences met at St Martin in the Fields to celebrate the launch of the Centre for the Evaluation of Complexity Aross the Nexus.
Professor Jane Elliott of the ESRC introduced the event, followed by a keynote speech from Sir Mark Walport (GCSA). The breadth of expertise of the audience was impressive including Government policy analysts, academics, social researchers and business people.
As part of the event, an expert panel discussed the question: Is policy fit for a complex world? Discussions focused on how CECAN can improve policy for a complex world by drawing on the insights that social scientists can bring to policy making and the evaluation of policy.
YESI's Professor Sue Hartley is a Co-Investigator for CECAN and attended the event on behalf of the University of York. If you are interested in the CECAN project please get in touch.
