Farmers in India are increasingly experiencing multiple, interlinked stressors from climate to soil and water. Ranjay will share his insights from over 450 survey responses from farmers in two communities adjacent to wetlands in Uttar Pradesh, India. He will discuss the most problematic experienced stressors, and the strategies farmers are adopting to combat them.

Dr Ranjay K Singh headshot photograph
Dr Ranjay K. Singh is Principal Scientist and Assistant Director General (Agricultural Extension) at the
Indian Council of Agricultural Research in New Delhi. His research interests address human-
environment interactions within community-based biodiversity conservation, adaptation and
resilience to climate change, and grassroots innovations. Dr Singh works to inform policy to achieve
sustainable, practical futures for farmers and the surrounding biodiversity.
