Event details

Play for the Planets' monthly meet ups is a unique series that brings together game designers, researchers, educators, and enthusiasts from the University of York and beyond. We're on a mission to explore how games and playful materials—ranging from digital and tabletop games to interactive narratives and simulations—can help us understand and address planetary crises.

Through monthly meetups at the Sustainability Clinic, you'll dive into environmental gameplay, thought-provoking research talks, and dynamic discussions. Discover how play and games can foster connection, spark joy, enhance learning, aid decision-making, and deepen empathy for people, places, and the planet.

Join us for this 'Future Factory' session, a cooperative game experience where you and your fellow players will shape the sustainable future of manufacturing. In this game, you'll step into the roles of various experts leading different divisions of a forward-thinking factory committed to sustainability in a post-net zero world. Collaborate to uncover how this future was achieved, tackle the challenges faced, and explore the pivotal events that shaped this visionary factory.
