Dr Indrajit Roy leads discussion on the social and political inclusion of internal migrants, 9 May.

Convener: Dr Indrajit Roy

Date: May 9, 9am - 5pm

Venue: RCH/103

By exploring and discussing governmental interventions that facilitate the social and political inclusion of internal migrants, the consultation will contribute to a Policy Brief on social and political inclusion of internal migrants being developed by three practitioners from India: Harsh Mander (Centre for Equity Studies), Priyanka Jain (Ajeevika Bureau) and Ravi Raman (Kerala State Planning Board). Their work build on our year-long collaboration over the ESRC-funded research project Fragmented Transitions. We plan for the consultation to be a day-long and focussed interaction between academics, practitioners and policy analysts with an interest in this issue within and beyond the Indian context.

YARN in collaboration with CAHR.

Participants include: Jens Lerche (SOAS), Sunil Kumar (LSE), Suhasini Singh (Fair Wear Foundation), Heather Zhang (Leeds), Winnie Wang (Bristol), Yu Chen (Sheffield), Laura Hammond (SOAS), Bridget Anderson (Bristol), Oliver  Bakewell (Manchester), Alice Nah (York), Ibrahim Sirkeci (Regents), Marcia Espinoza (Sheffield), Sally Faulkner (Sheffield), Matthew Walsham (Manchester), Harsh Mander (Centre for Equity Studies), Priyanka Jain (Ajeevika), Ravi Raman (Kerala State Planning Board), Patrick Taran (Global Migration Policy Associates), Fanny Dufvenmark (International Organisation of Migration), Coen Kompier (ILO- on leave) & Ludovico Carraro (Oxford Policy Management Limited)
