Biography

I completed a BA in History and Politics at the University of Exeter in 2018. I came to the Centre for Women’s Studies in 2019 and studied the MA in Women Violence and Conflict, for which I was awarded the Journal of Gender Studies Women’s Studies Prize. I also have an MA in Social Research from the University of York.

Research

Overview

I am interested in feminist geo-politics and Critical Military Studies and in particular military spouses/ partners. My MA in Social Research dissertation used qualitative interviews and auto-ethnography to explore the experiences of unmarried army partners in the UK. My PhD research, which is funded by the ESRC, is exploring the experiences of the partners of non-citizen personnel serving in the British military. I am using creative methodologies, including cooking and walking, for this research.

My research is supervised by Dr Clare Bielby and Dr Harriet Gray (Politics).
