Saturday 2 March 2019, 12.15PM to 16:30

Speaker(s): An afternoon of talks from the Centre for Women's Studies

[Due to an unexpectedly large response, this event is now sold out. Please email jpfk500@york.ac.uk to be added to waitlist. Alternatively, feel free to come on the day to see if there are any places available - you're most welcome to join if there are!]

CWS are really looking forward to hosting an afternoon of talks in conjunction with the highly popular and beloved York International Women's Week 2019.

Featuring 10 ten-minute talks from our centre's own researchers, Telling Feminist Stories will offer insights into diverse issues experienced by women locally and globally.

Hear about Algerian girl YouTubers, Chinese older women street dancing, global beauty ideals, fat romance novels in Thailand #MeToo in the US, gender-based violence, masculinities, work issues for Chinese and Nigerian women, menstruation in Kenya and the UK; and end by sharing what feminism means to us all.
