What happens after getting a place?
Congratulations! You've taken the first steps of your adventure with us – we can't wait to meet you.
Check your inbox
Keep an eye out for our 'Joining instructions' email, which will walk you through enrolling. After applying for accommodation, we’ll also send you welcome information about your college.
Accept your offer
Once we’ve made you an offer, you’ll need to accept it on your UCAS Hub by the deadline we provide. You can usually add your Clearing choice on UCAS Hub from the afternoon of A level results day.

We have living options across campus and the city, each supported by our college communities, to make York feel like home.
Update finance details
If you're a new UK (Home) student, you'll need to apply for student finance. If you've applied already, you'll need to log in to your student finance provider to update your course details.

International students may need to request a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) before studying with us. Our guide provides information about visas, arrivals and more.

Health and wellbeing
Let us know as soon as possible if you’d benefit from extra support, so we can discuss your requirements.
Our comprehensive network of support services is here to help you make the most of your time at York. We provide tailored help for, among others:
- mature students
- students with families
- student carers and care leavers
- students with disabilities, long-term conditions or mental health needs.

Free online short courses
As an extra treat, we run a short course exclusive to offer holders. It gives a glimpse at what’s in store when you join us.
