WRoCAH funding
The White Rose College of the Arts & Humanities (WRoCAH) is a Doctoral Training Partnership of the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York. The College is responsible for the distribution of AHRC-funded doctoral studentships for these universities.
WRoCAH funding includes a full fee waiver at the home rate, and a stipend at the UKRI rate. They have around 38 AHRC studentships that will be awarded through open competition.
You can make one application for funding through the open competition at either Leeds, Sheffield or York. Projects are welcome from all departments, not just Arts and Humanities, so long as the research falls within the remit of the AHRC.
Open to International (including EU) and UK (home) students.
Open to students in the following departments: Centre for Medieval Studies, Department of Archaeology, Department of History, Department of History of Art, Department of Language and Linguistic Science, Department of Philosophy, School of Arts and Creative Technologies and York School of Architecture.
To be eligible to apply for funding, you must have applied for a PhD programme at one of Leeds, Sheffield or York.
You must apply to your chosen department first in order to receive the 9-digit university number for your WRoCAH application. We recommend that you submit your application to York a minimum of four weeks before the closing date.
Applications will not be considered without a supporting statement from your supervisor. Please contact your supervisor to discuss your application.
Application deadline: Wednesday 22 January 2025, 5pm GMT
WRoCAH Studentship applications are made via a Formstack form.
