We invite you to investigate how society works and use your imagination to examine societal issues.
This course draws on C. Wright Mills’ concept of the sociological imagination, using York as a lens. You'll learn about the interplay between history, personal experiences and collective patterns. You'll not only gain a better understanding of York, but also how personal choices, struggles, and successes relate to larger cultural, economic, and political shifts.
We'll help you to connect your own experiences to wider social changes. You'll be able to see your life in the context of broader social forces.
You can join this course for free. You're also able to upgrade your FutureLearn account to a paid version for additional benefits (futurelearn.com).
