Enterprising people are valuable additions to any workforce. Using a range of skills from empathy to problem-solving, enterprise skills can help develop an existing career, and help you start a ‘side hustle’ or full-time start-up where you can develop a product or service you’ve always thought about.
This course will cover useful activities and ‘design thinking’ process which the best founders and entrepreneurs use to test their ideas and ascertain whether they’re viable. We’ll look at how to come up with ideas, how to judge the market, how to work with other people, and how to make money or positive social impact.
This course will be of value to anyone interested in developing their understanding of enterprise, and will have particular relevance to those starting/recently new to higher education, looking for complementary activity to their primary area of study. Prospective students from backgrounds without a tradition of attending higher education may find this course particularly useful in understanding the opportunities for entrepreneurship that university can offer.
