About us
At the IPC, we aim to help you achieve your goals, and prepare for undergraduate or postgraduate study.
The IPC is here to help students improve their academic or English skills in order to gain entry to our degree courses. Each course is specially designed for international students, and is done in conjunction with degree departments to help ensure they prepare students as best as possible. Courses focus on improving subject knowledge, academic skills, and English language proficiency to empower students to be ready for further study.
As well as core skills, the IPC offers additional opportunities to gain transferable skills that are valuable to employers. Students are also able to use the careers services at the University of York to help prepare for a successful working life after graduation. Students can also opt to take an internship as part of some of our courses, which will help to put the employability skills they have learned into practice, and give them the opportunity to gain valuable industry experience in preparation for their future careers.
The IPC comprises a number of teams that all work closely together to ensure our students have the best possible experience. The IPC is situated in the state of the art, award-winning Piazza Building on Campus East in a beautiful parkland setting on the outskirts of the historic city of York (you can find us on the interactive campus map here). The IPC is made up of highly skilled, qualified and experienced staff in the following teams: academic teaching teams, student support, academic support, and leadership/management.
We endeavour to respect and treat equally the differing perspectives and representations outlined in the Equality Act 2010. We work together as a community to create a safe, friendly and inclusive environment, so our staff and students may contribute fully and succeed at achieving their goals.
