This online course will help you take the next step with your business idea. Designed to expand on the work completed during the 'Explore' course, this programme is intended to help students who have already completed the early phase of business development, including user research, market fit and value proposition.

You don't have to have completed the Explore programme to take part, although we highly recommend you start there if you haven't done so already. Find out when the next Explore course starts and register.

When you're ready to take the next step, simply access the course at the bottom of the page. Make sure you're signed in to your University Google account to get access.

What the course covers

Values, perception and modelling

Think about the way you want your company to work. Where will it fit among current solutions, and how will you communicate your 'difference' to your customers.

Customers, money and blueprinting

Who are your customers and where do they 'live' - how can you access them and gather some feedback from your MVP? How specific should your demographics be? How much money will you need to start and how can you avoid running out of operating funds? And what do you actually do next?

Relationships, legal and marketing

Think about what to 'outsource and what key relationships you need to develop to make your business viable. What do you need to consider in terms of protecting your idea, paying tax and when are you actually ready to think about marketing your product?

Keeping in touch

If you'd like to be added to a dedicated Slack group to discuss the course with other participants, email us (enterprise@york.ac.uk).

When you complete the course you will get a certificate and be invited to join our Phase One incubator, with access to events and networking opportunities. Good luck!
