Study UK Development workshop for Chinese students
We are delighted that the University of York is hosting this prestigious British Council workshop for Chinese students
The workshop will provide up to date information about the job market in China and how to navigate recruitment as a returning graduate. Keynote speeches, panel discussions and Q&A will be delivered mainly in Chinese.
The Study UK Workshop is on Wednesday 19 March, 10am to 12 noon in the Ron Cooke Hub, Campus East.
The Study UK Career Development Workshop is designed to provide Chinese students currently studying at UK universities with up to date information to help you navigate the job market as a returning graduate.
The workshop will be delivered mainly in Chinese. The main format of the workshops will be keynote speeches, panel discussions, with live Q&A sessions facilitated between students and the speakers. Topics of discussion will cover:
• Insights into China’ job market and current development trends
• Talents preferred by top employers in China
• Strengthens and weaknesses of returning graduates in the job market
• Experience and skills development
• Recruitment process for returning graduates
• Preparing for the job hunt and interviews
The workshop will also include UK job market information sharing and advice on looking for a job in the UK.
This year the British Council, in partnership with LinkedIn China, has invited speakers who are senior managers and HR directors from leading international Chinese companies, representing a diverse range of industries, as well as UK alumni representatives who have developed their career in the UK.

Longquan Lin (Leo)
Leo Lin, Director of the Human Resources Development Department of TCL Industries EUBG, and supports TCL photovoltaic and communications businesses. He is now based in Paris and joined TCL right after graduation from Netherlands. During his time as an HRBP, he has participated in a series of European campus recruitment activities. In 2024, he has launched the EU Eagle Fly Project, which has been well received by European universities and business teams.

Lan Wu (Grace)
Wu Lan, Senior Economist, currently serves as Vice President of TCL Technology Group Corporation Limited. In 2020, she was uniquely honoured with the "Most Influential Figure in China’s Employer Branding of the Year" by Zhaopin. She received the "Ram Charan Management Practice Award" in 2023 and was named to the "Forbes China Top 100 Influential Business School Figures 2024." Prior to her corporate career, Wu Lan taught at a university, where she engaged in teaching, administrative management, and human resources work. With extensive experience in HR management for large industrial groups, she demonstrates a strategic, long-term vision and global perspective.
