Become a Student Ambassador
When you were deciding which universities to apply to, you probably encountered our Student Ambassadors - perhaps helping out at open days, contributing to our Student Voices blogs, or working at summer schools; our Ambassadors do all of this and more.
We have three Student Ambassador schemes, recruiting undergraduate, postgraduate and international ambassadors, who are paid £12.28 per hour (plus holiday pay).
A Student Ambassador is a member of the student body, and they can be undergraduate or postgraduate, UK or international students. There are separate application forms, depending on which scheme you apply for, but the process and roles are the same and we operate as one. An Ambassador is a casual worker recruited to the scheme, trained and paid for ad hoc hourly work within departments and sections of the University.
We recruit Student Ambassadors in a wide variety of roles to work with potential students: to communicate what life is like at York, what it means to be a student and to encourage them to apply to university. We are also working hard to raise aspirations and expand the recruitment of students who are currently under-represented in higher education.
