What we do to improve accessibility

  • We recognise that automatic captions may not always be entirely accurate.
The automated process may struggle to interpret subject specific terminology, negotiate heavy speaker accent or localised turn of phrase, or extract speech from recordings where the signal-to-noise ratio in the audio has been compromised.
  • When we are in a position to resume ‘face-to-face’ activity on campus, we will review the user experience by hosting a student workshop to observe student experience and behaviour and understanding of how to use and adapt the technology platforms we work with to meet accessibility needs.
  • If you have any difficulty with the automatic captions, you can request a copy of the transcript by contacting careers@york.ac.uk. Please confirm the name of the resource you wish to receive the transcript for.
  • Alternative formats for the resources we have available can be provided upon request by contacting careers@york.ac.uk. Please confirm the name of the resource you wish to access.

What to do if you have questions or concerns about accessing our resources

Please email careers@york.ac.uk with any questions or to outline concerns.

Alternatively, you can submit a report via the University’s accessibility issue reporting form.

If you are not happy with our response, you can follow our complaints procedure.
