Student fee and maintenance loan announcement
Last week, the government announced it will introduce a one year uplift in UK tuition fees and maintenance loans for home undergraduate students in 2025/26, in line with inflation, and has published initial ‘what you need to know’ guidance. Vice-Chancellor, Charlie Jeffery, emailed students earlier today with an update on what this means for both student and University finances.Feeling ill? Stay at home
In a close-knit community like ours, we must all do what we can to prevent the spread of illness. If you don’t feel well, make sure someone knows but please stay at home in order to reduce the spread of illnesses. Know the symptoms of infectious illnesses such as covid, flu or meningitis and get advice if your symptoms worsen. If you want to live on campus next academic year, accommodation applications opened this morning for returning undergraduates. Please be aware that university accommodation for continuing students is allocated based on priority groups.
Wednesday 13 to Tuesday 19 November is Trans Awareness Week, and Wednesday 20 November is Trans Day of Remembrance. On Thursday 21 November you can join the city-wide Trans Day of Remembrance vigil at 6pm in the York St John University Chapel.
