1. How to revise effectively

Finding it hard to know where to begin when it comes to preparing for exams? Come to our Effective Revision Skills online workshop on Friday 5 May where we will cover revision hints and tips, exam technique, useful resources and time management. Our online revision skills guide also offers great tips. For example, do you know about the Pomodoro technique? It’s great for getting focused; short bursts of effort with a little break in between can substantially increase your productivity.

2. Find study spaces on campus

We have over 1,000 single and group study spaces across the Library and other University buildings, including atrium spaces, social areas or touch down study spaces in your department or places like the Ron Cooke Hub, Spring Lane Building and the Piazza Building. You can also book an individual meeting room to study in via our Room Bookings System. As you prepare for exams, find out more about study spaces on campus.

3. Funding for student projects

Are you looking for funding for an extra curricular project in your department, college, club or society? Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends of the University, funds are available to support you through two different channels:

4. Listening to our LGBTQ+ community

How does it really feel to be an LGBTQ+ student at the University? Join us on Wednesday (26 April) for an in-person discussion about what matters most to you. Findings from the session will shape a series of workshops on improving LGBTQ+ experience here at York in the lead up to Pride. Find out more about the event and have your say.

5. Considering a career in research?

If you’re considering working in research but you’re not sure what the options are then come along to our Working in Research event on Wednesday 3 May. Gain insight into a range of research-based career opportunities in various sectors and understand how to develop your own career ambitions by connecting with research professionals at the event.
