Coronavirus update summary

We are seeing an increase in positive Covid cases on campus. Please remember to follow the guidelines - hands, face, space and fresh air. Take regular Covid tests and if you test positive complete the self-isolation form so we can support you.

1. Brexit: EU settlement scheme deadline soon

If you're an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, you need to apply to the EU Settlement scheme before Wednesday 30 June, as part of new rules following Brexit. See our EU advice pages for more information and sources of help.

2. PAID OPPORTUNITY: Welcome new international students

We’re recruiting enthusiastic, sociable and self-motivated students (both UK and international) to become paid Welcome Team members in the autumn. Greet new students at Manchester Airport, take part in campus and city tours, and assist with social activities. Application deadline: Monday 21 June. Find out more about the role.

3. Opportunities for finalists

Sign up for the Graduate Job Fair on Wednesday 16 June to meet employers and find out about grad schemes and other graduate roles. There are opportunities with immediate and summer start dates. Register for the event and sign up for individual sessions.

Could you represent the Class of 2021 at graduation? We're looking for student orators from each faculty to give a personal message to their classmates, family and friends during online graduation. If selected, you’ll be awarded a certificate and a studio photography package free of charge, as soon as the on campus graduation ceremonies are able to take place. Apply by Friday 2 July. 4. Don’t miss the York Festival of Ideas

Running until Sunday 20 June, come to free York Festival of Ideas online talks on a variety of subjects including The Science of Harry Potter; News, Fake News and Calling It Out; and Levelling Up the Economy. Warm up for the Rugby League World Cup with Preparing for Success in a World Cup Year and join contemporary novelist Sharlene Teo for readings and discussion.
