Strike action paused
Following progress at the national negotiations, planned strike action will be ‘paused’ until Thursday 2 March to enable further talks to take place. Teaching and learning will continue as originally planned in the next two weeks. See student information on industrial action.Semesters are coming
At the moment our academic year is split into three terms. From 2023/24, we’re changing this to two semesters. It means that the start and end dates of the academic year, and the timings of vacations and breaks, will change. There are some changes to student wellbeing support coming soon. We currently provide access to Togetherall for 24/7 wellbeing support for students but next month this will change to a new provider. More details to come.
Following a recent YUSU campaign, the University has met with the Students’ Unions and agreed to make some changes to the self-assessment procedure, in particular streamlining the process for vulnerable students. Find out more about the changes to the Exceptional Circumstances procedure.
This week we are launching the University of York Strategy for Sport and Active Wellbeing, developed in collaboration with our Students’ Unions. The strategy outlines our vision for the future of inclusive and engaging sport, physical and wellbeing activity at the University. Learn more about our objectives and initiatives.
Many bursaries are available to registered postgraduates, including UK and International students, to cover the costs of a short Languages For All course (depending on the availability of places).
