To provide the student with the full experience of an independent short film project, building on the development and pre-production work undertaken in previous modules to create a fully finished piece.
Subject content
Demonstrate an understanding for and application of appropriate filmmaking methods, workflows and systems.
Develop and enhance facility with hardware and/or software systems needed for project creation.
Demonstrate an ability to systematically assess the effectiveness of a film for its target audience.
Academic and graduate skills
Define the project's attributes, with clear creative objectives, ideas about the target audience, and an appropriate technical approach.
Work individually to prepare a review and evaluation of related prior work to put the project in context.
Develop and maintain suitable timescales for project completion with an understanding of how to optimize workflow and project-manage.
Work independently as well as liaise with colleagues as required to fulfil project requirements.
Further develop report writing, reflective critical analysis and skills in a formal context as part of the final assessment process.
