The Year in Industry placement is a one year extension to the Physics BSc and MPhys programmes and it takes place in the penultimate year of the degree programme. To be classed as a completed Year in Industry placement, you should spend a minimum of 9 months, ideally 12 months with the host company. You’ll be a company employee on a fixed term paid contract. The Year in Industry placement is worth a 120 additional credits and will be marked on a pass/fail basis. This gives the Year in Industry placement a zero weighting in the overall degree classification.
