This module continues your development as a practical and creative musician in a variety of areas, including solo performance but also encompassing other forms of creative activity. You continue your individual tuition on a solo instrument or voice, and continue to participate in departmental ensembles, as well as receiving fortnightly seminar tuition on issues relevant to all performers, with a focus on issues of leadership and professional development relevant to more advanced students. You also continue to develop other areas of practice, such as a second instrument, composition, conducting or community work. Assessment is through a portfolio demonstrating your performance ability and documenting your multiple areas of practice in the form of a website.
By the end of the taught part of the module you should be able to:
Perform as a soloist at an advanced level.
Perform and rehearse productively in an ensemble, taking up leadership roles or other responsibilities where appropriate.
Lead or constructively contribute to musical activity in a secondary area of specialism.
Present your creative practice in a professional manner via a website or other relevant medium.

The assessment for this module has three related components:
1) Creative Practice as Solo Performance
Live performance of 12–15 minutes on primary instrument or voice. This performance will take place in week 11 of Semester 2.
2) Professional Practice: Promotional Website
Website documenting your areas of creative practice, with appropriate sample recordings and materials. As with Creative and Professional Practice 1, you must include at least two areas of creative practice.
3) Record of participation
This consists of two equally-weighted elements:
A lesson diary, with brief description of and reflection on each instrumental/vocal lesson that you have received this year;
A record of ensemble participation logging your engagement with ensemble rehearsal and performance.
A suggested template for these elements will be provided by the module convenor.
