A | Semester 1 2024-25 |
B | Semester 2 2024-25 |
The module aims to equip you with the ability to prepare and present a solo or ensemble performance.
By bringing independent work week by week to your tutors, you are encouraged to develop an advanced level of technique, explore the qualities of a critical, reflective and informed artistic practice, and develop healthy approaches to preparation and performance. The specialism-specific performance class is used to facilitate peer feedback and reflection, develop your skills in presentation and communication with a live audience, and encourage creative experimentation with interpretative options.
By the end of the module you should:
Be able to prepare a solo or ensemble recital with the support of your teacher
Demonstrate a secure level of instrumental or vocal technique and musicianship sufficient to convey their chosen repertoire and their own interpretative ideas
Be able to identify, understand and contextualize the key ideas, issues and creative possibilities relating to their chosen musical material (and its text, where appropriate)
Make and convey coherent and convincing interpretative and artistic choices in their chosen repertoire
Be able to perform a programme of solo and/or ensemble music showing an understanding of presentation and audience communication
