Module summary

Clinical decisions based on evidence are essential to nursing and healthcare practice. In this module you will explore how evidenced based decision making is demonstrated in practice.

Module aims

Students will understand how types of evidence underpin nursing care and practice.

Module learning outcomes

By the end of the module, students will be able to:
1. Examine how uncertainty in healthcare can be resolved through understanding how different types
of information inform evidence based nursing practice.
2. Demonstrate the ability to assess methodological limitations of a range of research
approaches.

3. Demonstrate the ability to use research to help inform decision making.
4. Understand a range of factors which can influence decision making in nursing practice.
