This module enables the student to understand the demands of professional practice and to develop their own self awareness, resilience, emotional intelligence and adaptability in a healthcare setting. In addition, to promote knowledge of professional and ethical standards of behaviour for their Nursing Associate role in line with the NMC Code (2018).
By the end of the module, students will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of ethical theories, legal requirements and code of professional standards that underpin the Nursing Associate’s role.
Identify and recognise signs of vulnerability in themselves and colleagues and take actions required to minimise risks to health, to adopt a healthy lifestyle and maintain a level of fitness and wellbeing.
Demonstrate knowledge of and understanding the limits of confidentiality the principles of consent and capacity
Respect the values, beliefs, preferences and culture of others and recognise and challenge discriminatory behaviour.
Reflect upon and discuss the scope of responsibility and accountability in relation to the Nursing Associate role and take responsibility for own learning identifying the boundaries of the Nursing Associate role.
