Module aims

Evidence completion of EOAR requirements and demonstrate skills associated with key concepts from the Stage 1 theory modules.

Module learning outcomes

By the end of the module, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate key skills for effective nursing practice.
  2. Reflect on development of therapeutic relationships through effective communication.
  3. Reflect on your ability and responsibility to provide safe and effective care.
  4. Reflect on your understanding of key concepts in the safe administration of medicines.
  5. Understand how a range of assessments are applied to your nursing practice.

Additional assessment information

Actual number of practice hours required: 304 plus 24 hours of simulation.

You should aim to have completed all hours assigned to Stage One (hours for KANP1 & KANP2) by the end of practice placement 2. A stage deficit of more than 150 hours will require you to undertake the retrieval placement whilst on a summative action plan to reduce the hours deficit below 150 hours.
